has been working very hard to prepare for our

upcoming exchange to Australia. We wil

l be attending Mount View

Primary School in Glen Waverley, Victoria, Australia, near

Melbourne, and staying with host families there. We are leaving

on April 13th for Sydney, which is fall time in the southern

hemisphere, and will have a few days there be

fore going on to Melbourne. We will return on May 8th. Our host students will be

visiting Angevine next fall, so all of our AMS students will have the

opportunity to get to know these Australian exchange students

and their teachers! Our students have been

meeting regularly and are very busy

preparing presentations on various topics relating to Colorado and

the United States. Each student will present a mini

lesson to four

grade level classes. We have many interesting topics for our

Aussie friends, including:

All about Colorado

,

American Folk Music

,

US Architecture

,

Our National Parks

,

Environmental Issues in our

Country and our Community

American Pop Culture through the

Decades

,

US Sports

,

US Geography and Climate

,

US Holidays and

the American Civil War.

Our amazing student delegates will also

be presenting a 30 minute skit “Road Trip!

A Journey across the

USA” to the entire school (there are over 1,000 students at Mount

View)! We’re so excited about this incredibly opportunity and all

of the new places we will see and the new people we will meet.

We’re also very excited that our beloved principal, Mr. Medina,

who has been instrumental in bringing this program to Angevine

and an avid supporter of ISSE for many years, will be going on the

trip with us for the first two weeks! We will be setting up a

website to keep you updated on our adventures, so stay tuned!
