Delegate Team Meeting, January 29th, 2015

Today, Mrs. Jones showed us pictures from when she went to Australia.  It was awesome!  Then we took a short quiz that was mostly easy, but some were hard.  An easy one was "what animal has a long tail and hops to get around?" (kangaroo?)  Yesterday, kids from Bobcat TV interviewed all the delegates individually for about five seconds each.  They had me say my name, age and what I am most excited about doing when we traveled to Australia, which was to see the penguin parade.

Today the delegates and parents went over to Alexander's house for a party-like-thing.  The kids ate food, watched a movie and played games.  I am not sure what the parents did but we watched Harry Potter.

Delegate Team Meeting, January 15th, 2015

Today we figured out who we will be presenting for in Australia.  I am presenting for 3rd and 4th graders as well as 5th and 6th graders.  I will make two separate powerpoint presentations on Climate and Geology of the US and Colorado.  We talked obout each of our presentations and how they were progressing.  For our group presentation, we are going to pretend to drive around America and interview different delegates about life and culture in different parts of the US.  I am going to be a western rancher and an Alaskan sled dog musher.  Ryan's mom brought pizza for us.

Delegate team meeting, January 8th, 2015

Today we discussed what we were each doing on our projects and our progress.  We all sat in a circle and nothing really exciting happened.  That is all we did.  I started to work on my PowerPoint presentation over winter break with my dad by downloading some climate and geography maps and creating the slide layout.

Delegate team meeting, December 17th, 2014

When we get to Mount View Primary, we will each make a classroom presentation to the host school.  Today we figured out what we are individually going to do for our projects.  I am going to do climate and geography of Colorado and the USA.  After picking subjects, Mrs Webb and Mrs Jones let us go to the computer lab to start some research.  After the that, Samantha brought pizza for us to eat.

Fun facts about Australia

I found three interesting facts about Australia:
1. Melbourne used to be called 'Batmania' when it was first founded, as one of the founder's last name was Batman.
2. The sheep population is bigger than the human population by 7.5 times.
3. No matter where you are in Australia you are never more than 1000 km from the ocean.
